05/28/2013: Benson on Malory’s Morte Darthur

The great importance of honour in the Morte Darthur was first argued by D.S. Brewer… Honour is about responsibility and reputation rather than virtue. The honourable man must assert the good name of those for whom he is responsible, even (perhaps especially) if he knows that they do not deserve it.
